Hi, I’m an early stage VC at Google’s AI-focused Venture Fund, Gradient. I currently invest in Pre-seed and Seed stage startups working on AI infrastructure and applications.
Startups I’ve invested in and work with:
AI Infrastructure: Lambda Labs (Series C, Blog Post), CentML (Seed, Blog Post), Roe AI (Seed, Blog Post), CTGT (Seed, Blog Post), Vijil (Seed), Cake AI (Seed), Silverstream (Pre-seed) + more in stealth
AI Applications: Cambrium Bio (Seed), Syrup (Series A), Redactable (Seed), Fileread (Seed), Niva (Seed), Humata (Seed), Kerna Labs (Seed) + more in stealth
Before investing, I worked on research, startups, and engineering:
Research: Machine Learning and Systems PhD from Stanford. I researched the use of techniques in AI/ML (RL, optimization, control) to improve the performance of large scale computer systems. Published work in operating systems and distributed systems conferences (dissertation).
Startups: Founding engineer at startups spun out of MIT (Celect, acquired by Nike) and Stanford (Clockwork). Productized academic research in AI and distributed systems for B2B SaaS and infrastructure markets from pre-seed to Series A & B.
Industry: Worked on machine learning R&D for the Azure cloud offering at Microsoft. Wrote large scale climate models for global warming forecasting on the Discover supercomputing cluster at NASA.
